Established in 1982 as a evening college in the heart of Balangir town, Government College, Balangir has come a long way, driven by a vision to make education accessible to all. From its humble beginnings, the institution has grown through the dedication of educators, students, and the local community. A significant milestone was achieved in 1992 when it was converted into a fully-fledged Government College, marking a new era in its academic journey. As the college flourished, the need for a modern and spacious campus became imperative. In September 2017, it was relocated to its current site near Puintala Block Office, providing a serene and well-equipped environment for holistic learning.
